What is stainless steel?
Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing things – without losing its valuable properties.
Summary
Good grip at the pans
Utensils in the IKEA 365+ series are both good-looking and sturdy in your hand. The handles are angled to suit the specific function of each utensil. And you can use them with all types of pans, because they're made of stainless steel in combination with gentle, heat-resistant plastic. And, needless to say, you can also hang them up if you like. Then they'll always be close at hand when you need them - every day of the year.
Quality/durability
All our utensils can take the heat
Most of our plastic spatulas, whisks and ladles can take temperatures up to at least 220°C (428°F), which is higher than most normal cooking temperatures. So you can leave your plastic utensils in the frying pan for a while without worrying. If you have pans with a non-stick finish, we recommend you use plastic or wooden utensils. They're softer than metal and gentler on the inside of the pan.
