DRAGON cutlery has been in our range for 30 years, valued for its durable quality and timeless design – that’s why you’ll find that we use the cutlery in many of our IKEA restaurants too.

Material

What is stainless steel?

Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing things – without losing its valuable properties.

How to choose

Which cutlery to choose?

Use your hands and eyes to help you decide which cutlery to choose. Do you like the shape and finish? Does it feel good in your hand? The more material there is in the cutlery, the better it usually feels to hold. But, the amount of material and the production process also have the biggest effect on the price. Follow your instincts - only you know which cutlery feels best.

Summary

Always right

Would you like quality cutlery that's suitable for all kinds of meals? Then the DRAGON series is a good choice. The classic design matches well with most styles of china and can be used on weekdays and holidays alike.

Designer thoughts

Designer Carl-Gustaf Jahnsson

"When designer Carl-Gustaf Jahnsson created the DRAGON cutlery set his goal was that it should appeal to most people, be suitable for most things and have a timeless look. He succeeded so well that the cutlery has outlived all our other cutlery series. And even though it has been produced in many different places in the world, the cutlery has always kept its original form. A truly faithful servant that also does a good job at many of the restaurants in our stores."

Quality/durability

A few words on cutlery

All cutleries need some care to maintain their original finish. Rinse cutlery after use to remove any scraps of food, even if you plan to wash up later. If you use a dishwasher, choose a shorter cycle and dry the cutlery by hand. That way you avoid rust spots caused by food that sticks to the cutlery, or by leaving cutlery too long in the hot, humid air inside the machine. Good advice doesn't have to be expensive.
